Pier 17, Seaport District NYC

Mastering the complexity of the multi-use commercial property at Pier 17, South Street Seaport District NYC

Part of the transformed South Street Seaport District, Pier 17 has been transformed into a premier New York City downtown destination with a variety of dining, shopping and entertainment. Over a three-year period ANC worked with real estate development company, The Howard Hughes Corporation, to design a customized multimedia system to fit into and emphasize the unique indoor and outdoor Pier 17 space.

"ANC provided expertise outside the scope of the project. They recommended that we sidestep elements that were a waste of money. This is the kind of trust I value most."

As part of the design/build, ANC engineered the solution, sourced products from multiple manufacturers and developed a customized LED digital signage and multimedia network on behalf of Howard Hughes with ANC's manufacturer partner digiLED.

The design review consisted of a custom, detailed 3D model, which created the experience that went live in the Summer of 2018. Once the design visualization was complete, ANC was awarded the deployment of the system after a thorough RFP process among multiple bidders.

The Atrium at Pier 17 creates an immersive experience across three levels, with a continuous run of LED displays. The shopping level includes custom no-bezel columns, allowing content to be displayed separately on each face or wrap the column continuously.

The new development features a dynamic, custom 4mm resolution indoor/outdoor digital media environment designed, integrated and operated by ANC.
