ANC Sports Outfits Volunteers with 4,580 Square Foot HD Scoreboard

(PurchasANC Sports Outfits Volunteers with 4,580 Square Foot HD Scoreboarde, NY September 8, 2009) – ANC Sports Enterprises announced the University of Tennessee featured a new Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Vision™ high-definition light emitting diode (LED) scoreboard at Neyland Stadium, home of the Volunteers during their season opening 63-7 vicotry over Western Kentucky on Saturday. The Volunteers previewed the video screen for their fans on WVLT Channel 8 on Friday, August 7th. Click here to view the segment.

ANC Sports spearheaded the installation of the Mitsubishi HDQ12 video screen which measures 36.75’ high by 124.67’ wide. The new scoreboard features 4,580 square feet of active LED signage and contains over 2.5 million pixels, while the structure is over 10 stories high.

“Let’s just say that there were many engineering challenges,” said Chris Fuller, associate athletic director for sales and marketing. “The people at ANC Sports have been amazing. I have never been around people who take their job more seriously than those guys. We expect the picture quality to be amazing.”

Neyland Stadium is the largest football stadium in the South, the fourth largest in the United States, and the seventh largest stadium in the world. The new high-definition scoreboard will deliver crystal clear video, full motion team graphics, real-time statistics, and other game information to all 102,037 seats.

“ANC Sports and Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Vision have successfully delivered and executed a very complex project flawlessly; we are confident that the University of Tennessee and its fans will be impressed with the quality of the LED system that’s been installed," said Michael Rowe, a principal at Anthony James Partners who consulted for the University throughout the process. "This project had several challenges balancing technology, engineering and aesthetics and ANC assembled a first-class team to make it happen. We look forward to working with ANC and Mitsubishi on many more projects."
The high-definition Diamond Vision video screen will be driven in part by ANC’s patent-pending VisionSOFT™ operating system, which will enable instantaneous transition of live video, replays, and animations into real-time statistics, out-of-town scores and advertising content. The unique 3D interface will help create an unprecedented home field advantage by mimicking the look of a traditional scoreboard before dissolving into one giant full motion Tennessee logo, crowd prompt or other entertainment image.

“We look forward to bringing the University of Tennessee one of the most dynamic video displays in collegiate athletics,” said Chris Mascatello, executive vice president, technology sales and services at ANC Sports Enterprises. “Our preferred relationship with Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Vision Systems enables us to unveil the largest LED signage systems in professional sports while introducing high-definition video screens and ribbon boards to colleges, amateur sports facilities, and other venues.”
In addition to the installation, ANC Design, the creative division of ANC Sports Enterprises, will create all the 2D and 3D animations, full motion team and advertiser graphics, and statistical templates for the scoreboard throughout the 2009 season.
