ANC Sports & Mitsubishi Unveil New MLB LED Displays
(Purchase, New York, March 27, 2008) – ANC Sports Enterprises and Mitsubishi Electric unveiled Nationals Park’s high-definition video display system on Tuesday, March 4th. Click here to view the “lighting ceremony” and the installation of home plate at the new stadium.
ANC Sports is spearheading the installation, content creation and operation for the ballpark’s light-emitting diode (LED) display system and rotational signage.
Highlighted by a right-center field HD video screen measuring 4,811 square feet, the new ballpark also features 102-feet of Mitsubishi's Diamond Vision signage in the outfield wall and over 950 feet of LED ribbon. The ribbon system animates several locations of the ballpark, including the stadium’s right and left field fascia, above the home and visitors bullpens and a “ring” in the outfield adjacent to the scoreboard.
"ANC Sports and Mitsubishi are committed to offering the highest quality LED signage, operated by the most advanced software systems available to professional and collegiate sports facilities," said Jerry Cifarelli, president and chief executive officer of ANC Sports Enterprises. “We are excited to partner with the Nationals to provide Washington, DC with a premier sports and entertainment venue through our state-of-the-art technology.”
In addition, ANC Sports and Mistubishi have expanded their relationship into two other Major League Baseball stadiums. The companies are currently renovating Baltimore’s Camden Yards and Boston’s Fenway Park with new LED displays. All of the new signage systems will feature Mitsubishi's Diamond Vision displays and will be driven by ANC’s patent-pending VisionSOFT 3D interface. Additionally, ANC Design will develop and coordinate team and sponsor graphics for each signage system throughout the season.
ANC will install a new 20mm Quad Diamond Vision video screen measuring 74-by-27 feet at Camden Yards, while also replacing the existing main scoreboard with a 39-by-24 foot full color Diamond Vision matrix and the right field outfield wall out-of-town scoreboard with a 68-by-14 foot animated LED video display. ANC will also feature three new sections of LED fascia on the lower deck and two new locations of LED on the upper deck at Camden Yards. The Red Sox will feature approximately 160 feet of new LED Diamond Vision fascia throughout four locations of Fenway Park.
All three of the signage projects are scheduled to be completed for Major League Baseball’s Opening Day.
