Tennessee Titans Partner with ANC Sports to Bring Two of the Largest Video Screens in the World to LP Field (now Nissan Stadium)

June 12, 2012

The next generation of game presentations will be introduced to the NFL when the Tennessee Titans play the Arizona Cardinals during a preseason game at 8:00pm eastern on August 23rd on ESPN.

Through a ten-year partnership which includes manufacturing, installation, operation, ongoing maintenance, content creation, and display usage consultation, ANC Sports and the Titans are transforming the NFL experience through an unprecedented combination and synchronization of sound and video.

“We are certainly making it our top priority to keep fans coming and have a great time and give them reason to come to LP Field as opposed to staying at home and watching it on high-definition television," said Titans executive vice president Don MacLachlan.

The Titans partnered with ANC to help create a new fan experience which will include two high-definition video displays measuring 157’ wide by 54’ high that will be placed at each end of LP Field. Each display will feature 8,478 square feet of LED signage, becoming the largest end zone video screens in the world.

“We did our due diligence and thought it was best to partner with ANC,” MacLachLan told SportsBusiness Journal. “We have a lot of other events in the stadium with the Music City Bowl, soccer and concerts.”

The displays will become the 2nd largest in the NFL and 4th largest in North America. The scoreboards will be the largest outdoor displays in sports featuring surface mount LEDs, the next evolution of outdoor signage technology. Utilizing outdoor SMD technology, ANC’s video displays at LP Field will feature actual physical pixels, over 3 million per screen, spaced 16 millimeters from each other creating details such as blades of grass and uniform stains as sharp as Titans fans’ high-definition TV’s at home.

Before the new video screens can be installed, ANC needed to break down and rebuild the old structure which will house the massive HD screen including implementing new catwalk structural steel and aluminum vertical I-beams. Ensuring the scoreboard’s structure appearance equals that of the new LED technology, ANC cleaned, sanded, and painted the inside of both scoreboard structures prior to hoisting LED cabinets which began arriving on June 12th.

The two main video screens will be joined by over 1300 linear feet of ANC’s 20mm LED fascia signage that will measure more than five feet tall. ANC removed the old fascia sound scaffolding and installed secondary structures in early June. The LED cabinets for the fascia began being installed immediately after the nationally recognized CMA Fest, which was held for four days the weekend of June 9th.
